The Technical Sales Representative draws on practical knowledge of steam and hot water utilities to provide customers with the best solution available for the application.

Summary/Objective:

Maintain a customer base of key accounts that generate recurring sales to achieve the annual sales plan for the territory.

Essential Functions:

  • Build relationships with design engineers, mechanical contractors and end users.
  • Majority of time meeting directly on-site with customers.
  • Developing opportunities by identifying solutions to solve customer needs.
  • Promoting solutions of key manufacturers that we represent.
  • Maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) data including daily activities.

  • Technical learning:  Has desire to learn new industries, products and technical knowledge.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school and / or three years of sales experience in mechanical field.
  • Experience with steam and hot water systems.
  • Ambitious ‘hunter’ sales personality.
  • Mechanical aptitude and / or practical knowledge of pipe, valves and fittings.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Technical training provided by company during work hours.
  • This position is home based, must live within sales territory.
