Component Repair Technician II
SUMMARY: The Component technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul aviation components while maintaining a safe work environment. The technician will perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Disassemble aviation components including brakes, wheels, hydraulics, landing gears, etc. with minimal supervision.

Assemble aviation components including brakes, wheels, hydraulics, landing gears, etc. with minimal supervision.

Use aviation ERP system as necessary.

Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests to identify component malfunctions and determine repair needs.
-
Utilize hand tools daily.
-
Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and technical manuals to conduct repairs and adjustments according to manufacturer specifications and regulatory requirements.

Read and interpret component maintenance manuals (CMMs).
-
Conduct functional tests on repaired components to ensure they meet safety, reliability, and airworthiness standards.

Ensure all work performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.

Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.

Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.

Generate data plates for components as required.

Accurately read and interpret schematics and drawings

Document repair processes, procedures, and test results accurately in maintenance records and reports.

Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Related or Relevant Technical degree or Certification
-
2+ years of relevant/technical work experience.
-
Internal experience counts as 2 years of experience as it relates to meeting the requirements of a role.

OR an additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.

Proficiency in aircraft component repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
-
Knowledge of aviation regulations (e.g., FAA regulations), industry standards, and technical manuals.
-
Inspect, disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble components such as hydraulic systems, landing gear, brakes, wheels, etc.
-
Experience using specialized tools, equipment, and testing devices for aviation component repair.

Be flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.

Maintain an orderly and productive work environment.

Attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety protocols and procedures.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
-
4+ years of relevant/technical experience in the aviation industry.
-
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or FAA Repairman certification preferred.
OTHER
The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
