SUMMARY STATEMENT/POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Technician to join our IT team. This role is essential in supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our MES projects, playing a crucial part in enhancing our warehouse/production operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBLITIES - MES Tech
- Support the implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) projects, and updates.
- Work with the IT Manager to define and discuss the MES user requirements with key representatives from quality, manufacturing, engineering and supply chain.
- Participate in the integration test in order to test the MES interfaces.
- Organize the training of the factory super users
- Participate in activities with the MES supplier to deliver documentation.
- Troubleshooting on day to day basis and support after hours if needed.
- Support the implementation and ongoing use of the plant floor applications.
- Ensure the reliability and accuracy of all MES applications implemented at the facility.
- Writing DB documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions
- Controlling access permissions and privileges.
- Commissioning and installing new applications and customizing existing applications to fit business needs.
- Installs and tests new versions of the database management system(DBMS).
- Maintains data standards.
- Visibly leads and supports all department goals as set forth in objectives and targets.
SPECIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS - MES Tech
Required:
- At least 1 year of experience in IT or factory automation; a related Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including on-call support during weekends.
- Good knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and automation practices in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen understanding of database systems.
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a high-paced environment.
- Familiarity with MS Office and MS Project.
- Hands-on experience with an MES platform and basic knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Understanding of TCP/IP networks, bar code printers, scanners, and RF data collection devices.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified Database Administrator certification is a plus.
