The Purchasing Representative supports the procurement team by assisting with the purchasing of materials, supplies, and services for the manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in purchasing or supply chain management. The representative will assist with vendor communication, inventory monitoring, and the preparation of purchase orders.

Job Duties
|
- Purchase Order Assistance: Help process purchase orders based on production needs and inventory levels, under supervision.
- Vendor Communication: Assist in reaching out to vendors and suppliers for quotes, tracking deliveries, and resolving order discrepancies.
- Inventory Monitoring: Support the team in tracking inventory levels to ensure timely restocking and prevent shortages.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, deliveries, and pricing, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Clerical Support: Perform basic clerical duties related to purchasing, such as filing, data entry, and document management.
- Issue Resolution: Help identify and resolve issues related to orders, such as late deliveries or pricing errors, and escalate more complex issues to senior staff.
- Compliance: Assist in ensuring all procurement activities align with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Team Support: Work closely with the production and warehouse teams to support purchasing activities that meet operational needs.
- Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)
- Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education
|
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree or coursework in Business, Supply Chain, or related fields is a plus.
- Experience: 0-2 years required. Internship or work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); knowledge of procurement software is a plus but not required.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
