Writer, Strategic Pursuits & Proposals - Dallas
The position requires strong writing and editing skills, as the candidate will be responsible for creating internal and external communications, submission, and RFP responses. In addition, the candidate should have a firm understanding of today’s business, professional services, and legal landscape.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Write and edit a wide range of external communications, including marketing collateral, advertising copy, lawyer biographies, social media posts, website content, blog posts, newsletters, and firm announcements.
- Write award and ranking submissions and responses to RFPs.
- Work with colleagues to maintain a master calendar of ranking and submission opportunities and status.
- Work with firm lawyers to write and edit client communications and third-party articles and coordinate the placement of articles with target publications.
- Write and edit internal communications from firm leadership.
- Draft, publish, and distribute press releases and announcements for attorney and firm awards, events and other happenings.
- Edit and proofread material to ensure consistency and adherence to firm style in written communications.
Qualifications:
Candidates for this position must have a background in copywriting, communications, communications consultancy, and/or journalism, and superior writing and editing skills. Knowledge and experience with new media, including websites, social networking sites, and blogs, are also required, as well as an aptitude and ability to work with the latest tools and communications technology.
Excellent communications, and interpersonal skills, as well as experience managing projects and deadlines with internal and external stakeholders, are required.
In addition, the successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus on communications, journalism, or marketing.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in marketing, communications, advertising and/or media relations.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills and solid editing ability are required.
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
