The Operations Supervisor directs, plans, schedules, and oversees ongoing activities and staff with our Plumbing and Electrical departments. Supervision is exercised over Union, clerical, and technical staff as well as contractors and vendors.

This is a temporary opportunity of 3+ months.

Responsibilities:

• Develops work programs and schedules
• Directs the work of subordinates within the department
• Plans and supervises department training and safety programs
• Selects and evaluates employees, provides feedback and reviews
• Supervises the field operations of department as well as outside contractors
• Assists with the evaluation and preparation of contracts
• Coordinates with other division departments to successfully complete internally generated projects that require maintenance and construction services

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and/or journeyman supervisory experience in the construction trades
• Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and repair work
• Ability to lay out and supervise the work of maintenance personnel performing various tasks in a manner conducive to full performance and high morale
• Knowledge of research methods and techniques and report presentation
• Ability to design, conduct, analyze, and interpret research findings
• Ability to write and orally present clear and concise reports
