Email Marketing Specialist
Position Summary:
Penn Foster is looking for an experienced Email/SMS Marketing Specialist that will be responsible for the development and execution of highly targeted email and SMS campaigns using enterprise ESPs to support acquisition efforts. Under the direction of the Email Marketing Manager, you will work cross-functionally with teams like Brand, Product, and Technology on the execution and performance tracking of marketing campaigns across the lifecycle of a lead. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to build impactful campaigns, analyze key customer lifecycle metrics, and share actionable insights to optimize strategy and segmentation.
Essential Job Functions:
• Own and execute all phases of email/SMS campaigns including building emails/SMS, creating target segments, A/B testing, and launching emails in Oracle Responsys
• Perform pre-launch testing/QA for all campaigns, ensuring email logic, design and copy are correct and render across different clients/devices
• Ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business goals
• Define and implement a robust testing agenda, focusing on segmentation, messaging and personalization
• Establish and report on key performance metrics for email and SMS channels
• Manage email/SMS campaign calendar and bi-weekly offer periods, to ensure all deadlines are executed in a timely manner
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or technology-related field
• 3+ years of work experience in email marketing
• Experienced with enterprise level email service providers (Oracle Responsys, Marketo, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, IBM/Sliverpop, Hubspot, Adobe Campaign)
• HTML & CSS skills required
• Ownership mindset with a results-driven approach
• Proven analytical skills with a history of translating insight into actionable plans
• Exceptional project management skills, adept at balancing shifting priorities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as QA is critical in this role
