What You’ll Do

Established in 2022, the Kenyon Scholars program was developed by L+M to honor Debra Kenyon’s contributions to the company and communities after her 27-year tenure. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Debbie is fiercely committed to giving back to communities where she lives and works. She has served on the board of a variety of nonprofits; volunteering her time and expertise to support their missions.

As a 2025 Kenyon Scholar, you will work with the Communications + Marketing Team. The Communications + Marketing team develops and implements programs to build employee engagement and increase alignment with corporate strategic priorities. The team oversees internal communications channels such as the company intranet, external channels such as social media and the website, and produces marketing materials.

Kenyon Scholars will participate in L+M’s comprehensive intern program. During the program, interns will gain exposure to the industry, tour several jobsites, and make a capstone presentation on lessons learned to senior management. As a Kenyon Scholar, you will also have the opportunity to meet with Debra Kenyon to learn about her career trajectory and meet with various departments to learn about affordable housing development. Kenyon Scholars will receive a $1,000.00 stipend at the conclusion of their internship to support their academic pursuits for the remainder of high-school, or college career. Specific duties will vary depending on the team but include tasks similar to these:

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Draft well-written content for the intranet and social media platforms, focusing on the company’s mission and values.
• Photograph subjects and events that capture the internship program and support written content.
• Design appealing graphics and marketing/branding materials.
• Provide general support to the Communications + Marketing Team.
