Accounts Receivable Manager (Financial Management)

Areas of Responsibility and Job Requirements:
Supervises the AR Department including the accounts receivable process, bank reconciliations, processing of tenant bills and work with the Director of Accounting to develop policies that provide quality customer service, and mentors the AR team with best practices to achieve the goals of the Department.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Handles rent & condo monthly charges posting.
- Reviews monthly charges posting reports, posting charges and upload monthly bill data files for rent bills processing and subsequent mail out.
- Handles intercompany reconciliation due to misapplied payments and request bank transfers.
- Assists the Property Accountants with A/R to G/L reconciliation issues, security deposit reconciliation issues and other A/R issues.
- Provides AR accounting and Yardi support to the Site Offices.
- Works with Director of Accounting and Property Manager to prepare section 8 write-off schedule.
- Evaluates the performance of AR Staff.
- Resolves minor department issues.
- Works with the Director of Accounting to adopt and implement other convenient ways of collecting payments to improve revenue.
Minimum Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Business Administration
- LIHTC certification, preferred
- TaCC certification, preferred
Minimum Years of Experience Required:
- 5+ year of comparable experience
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Excel, MS work and general computer and office skills are required
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience with Yardi or similar industry related software is preferred
- Ability to speak Spanish, preferred
Competencies/Essential Job Functions:
This position consists mainly of light physical work. The position may require exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The role involves sitting most of the time.
The incumbent is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned or to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data, reviewing data, view computer screens for extended periods of time, extensive reading, etc.
- This role frequently requires the incumbent to grasp, engage in repetitive movements with the wrist, hands, and fingers, typing for extended period of time.
- The role also requires incumbent to talk and hear, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken work and the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make distinctions in sound.
Work Environment:
The incumbent may occasionally be subject to noise sufficient to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the noise.
