L+M Development Partners (LMDP) Inc. is a mission-driven company, and we are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator. The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator will play a critical role in driving alignment across the company (business lines and departments) and supporting our company strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Senior Insurance Claims Manager, working closely with the Senior Team and all Business Line and Department leads. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and consistently be able to prioritize and manage multiple deadline-driven projects. You are willing to roll up your sleeves and are a strategic self-starter and humble, willing to ask questions, work independently, and value the team. You are not only able to identify and evaluate issues, but you’re able to develop and implement a plan, and then measure progress.  The successful candidate will be a critical thinker and a data-driven professional who is comfortable communicating results in a way that others can understand. 

What You'll Do

 

We are seeking an individual who has knowledge and experience in New York State Labor Law construction claims. This individual should understand various Lines of Business (Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Property, and other).

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator should be responsive and organized to timely review, investigate, and manage incoming incident reports, claims, and litigation.

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator should be an effective and excellent communicator. The candidate will need to be able to work with site project teams, property managers, safety director, and internal legal department to gather and provide documents requested by adjusters and legal counsel. The qualified candidate should also be able to interact with senior leadership and department leads.

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator should be able to read and interpret loss runs, ensuring that carrier/TPA data is accurate and updated where needed. The candidate should be able to interpret loss trends and communicate trends back to safety director and property teams.

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator will assist the Senior Insurance Claims Manager with logging claim notes and documents, claims strategy, and identifying claims that are ripe for resolution and/or closure.

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator will assist the Senior Insurance Claims Manager in updating incident response procedures and claims manuals. The candidate will also assist with coordinating New York Labor Law trainings for project teams.

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator will coordinate and participate in meetings with other departments, insurance brokers, carriers/TPA’s, and outside vendors to establish relationships, discuss reporting procedures, address specific needs, and/or to conduct claim reviews, as needed.

 

The Senior Insurance Claims Coordinator should be competent and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Zoom. The candidate should be able to use the internet to access carrier risk management information systems, track claims data, and the like.

 

What You Bring

  • Earnest and sincere commitment to LMDP’s mission and core values.
  • 2+ years of experience with New York Labor Law claims; experience with other lines of business is a plus.
  • Knowledge of OCIP’s and CCIP’s
  • Strong negotiation and litigation management skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or in lieu of degree, significant relevant claims experience.
  • AIC, CRIS, and/or other claims related designation preferred.
  • Proactive and self-starter
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and Zoom
  • Prior experience working for a construction company and familiarity with construction terminology is useful.
