Job Summary:
This position will provide electrical services that meet and exceed a client’s expectations. They will provide advice, make decisions, and develop complex elements regarding electrical design and project development. This position will ensure projects are designed in accordance with the various applicable building codes, in compliance with industry standards, and meet the clients’ needs. The Electrical Engineer will collaborate with the electrical team and other disciplines to ensure projects move forward smoothly and are completed on-time and on-budget. This position will also work to build trusting client relationships.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide pro-active communication with clients to identify goals and meet expectations and deadlines.
  • Professionally build trust and maintain positive relationships with clients.
  • Correctly engineer power, lighting, communications, and life safety for assigned projects.
  • Required presence at onsite visits with construction administration.
  • Effectively answer questions, stay on schedule, and follow a budget to ensure a project is completed successfully.
  • Professionally interact with the electrical team and other disciplines.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required):
  • 5+ years of relevant experience. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
  • P.E. Licensed Electrical Engineer preferred. EIT Certification complete required.   
  • Proven ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and organization.
  • Proven ability to be detail oriented, an independent thinker, and a strong leader.
  • Desire to produce quality work and grow in the engineering field.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build trusting relationships.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Proven ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role.
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours as project deadlines and schedules require.
Problem Solving:
Problem solving involves identification and analysis of diverse problems; solutions are often found by reviewing standard documented processes and/or work procedures and modifying them to apply to the situation.  Guidance is usually provided on what source(s) to consult, and decision is reviewed by supervisor before implementation.
 
Supervision Required:
Supervision is present to review broad objectives relative to basic position duties and day-to-day department duties.  Basic work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor.  Strategic issues are referred to supervisor.
 
Decision-Making Impact:
Independent judgment is required to analyze problems and perform needs assessments.  Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result.  Regular exercise of independent judgment is used.  Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures, and practices.  Refers exceptions to policies and procedures to the supervisor.
Decisions impact department, outside departments, and the organization.
 
Work Complexity:
Tasks are multiple and diverse with some connectedness across processes.  Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies, and processes.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will not supervise, but may have the ability to lead a team in the future. 
 
Physical Requirements:
This position requires regular sitting, talking, hearing, and vision. Frequent walking and standing will be required, as well as, occasional climbing/balancing, reaching with arms, crouching/crawling, feeling/touching, and lifting/carrying objects weighing over 20lbs.
 
Salary: $110,000 to $140,000 depending on experience.
