Position Summary
The Solutions Architect is a critical and highly important role for IMG Academy as the go-to technical resource for new initiatives and requirements from the business on IMG Academy’s state-of-the-art campus in Bradenton, Florida. IMG Academy’s industry-leading Technology team has grown over the past year and has supported the launch of new sports and is innovating in the use of data, analytics, and sports technology. An exciting time of growth for IMG Academy, this pivotal role will help IMG Academy further its status as a leader in sports technology in addition to already being the world leader in sports education. With room for growth, and use cases and service needs unique to the tech world, this is a highly attractive position for a high-level tech leader who is interested in working in a unique and exhilarating sports and education setting.
Reporting to the director of portfolio management, the Solutions Architect will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements, evaluate technologies and implement solutions that meet the performance needs of the organization, while also addressing potential technical challenges. They will use their technical background and skills to translate requirements and create designs that guide the development process.
Position Responsibilities
On Campus Technology Leadership
- Serve as the technology liaison on-campus at a leadership level to collaborate in the early assessment and planning phases of technology-related initiatives
- Act as the primary on-campus contact for new initiatives that extend beyond standard IT support requests
- Continuously communicate and engage with the technology department leaders to inform the technology roadmap based on the Campus business roadmap
Design Solutions for Technology-Focused Initiatives on Campus
- Support early-stage initiatives, projects and other efforts by translating business requirements to technical requirements.
- Ensure requirements documentation enables leadership to make go/no-go decisions on future initiatives and projects.
- Identify and understand dependencies between current system capabilities and desired functionality
- Champion technical and operational excellence, supporting project intake and project discovery, for consistent and ongoing delivery of projects.
- Provide decision support to business leads by collaborating to produce:
- Initiative/project charters (what, why, when, how)
- Business cases
- Staffing plans and capacity forecasting
- Project plans
- Budget and ROI
- Uses cases
- Business Process, Workflow and System Diagrams
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 5+ years’ experience and/or have deep expertise working with enterprise software-as-a-service platforms, in either a business architect, project manager, developer, administrator or customer success role.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with director and VP-level business leaders, as well as work closely with technology individual contributors
- Technical depth and judgment required to earn the trust and respect of business leaders and the ability to balance their pragmatic business context with technical decisions.
- Knowledge and experience across Sales, Marketing, and Operations business domains to understand people’s motivations, considerations, and the ramifications of decisions.
- Ability to understand and explain technology concepts like networking topology, physical data centers, supporting systems, API's, Cloud systems, databases, data flows, technology security basics.
- Enjoyment of teaching and coaching to create mutual understanding of technical, operational, and business considerations across the various stakeholders in the projects you support.
- Proficiency in business analysis, written use cases, and data flow diagrams from business user interviews.
- Experience supporting and producing project charters, budgets, project plans, vendor research, vendor selections.
