About Us
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Screw Compressors Service Technician to join our team. This role will primarily involve the maintenance, repair, and servicing of both oil-free and oil-flooded screw air compressors across various industries. The ideal candidate will have firsthand experience with air compressors, specifically screw-type compressors, and will be responsible for troubleshooting, performing routine maintenance, conducting inspections, and ensuring the efficient operation of compressors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation & Commissioning:
- Assist with the installation and commissioning of new screw compressors (oil-free and oil-flooded).
- Ensure compressors are properly calibrated and tested for functionality post-installation.
- Maintenance & Repairs:
- Perform routine maintenance on oil-free and oil-flooded screw compressors, including changing filters, oil, and air intake filters, rebuilding necessary components, and checking system components.
- Diagnoses and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
- Replace or repair damaged parts, including bearings, seals, rotors, and valves.
- Inspect and maintain refrigeration or cooling systems for compressors, as necessary.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Respond to service calls to troubleshoot and repair compressor issues.
- Analyze compressor performance and implement corrective actions to restore or enhance operation.
- Collaborate with other technical teams to identify root causes of failures and suggest long-term solutions.
- Customer Interaction:
- Interact with clients on-site to discuss service requirements, provide recommendations for improved performance, and address concerns or questions.
- Complete work order forms, service data reports, timecards and provide professional and timely service reports to customers, including technical details, recommendations, and follow-up actions with emphasis on accuracy and punctuality.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities adhere to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain service logs, and document inspections, repairs, and modifications made to the equipment.
- Follow all company and industry safety regulations while working with air compressor systems and related equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience working with screw compressors (oil-free and oil-flooded), preferably in a service maintenance and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of pneumatic systems, compressors, and related equipment.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems, including control panels, PLCs, and drive systems.
- Knowledge of compressor control systems (e.g., VFD, pressure controllers, etc.) is a plus.
- Skills:
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and control issues in screw compressors.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical clients.
- Certifications:
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (required).
- Relevant certifications in HVAC, refrigerant dryer and desiccant dryers, mechanical systems, or industrial equipment maintenance are a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in industrial environments.
- Ability to work at heights and in challenging conditions as needed.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position must be able and willing to work flexible hours including rotating on call schedule, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required and authorized by the service manager.
- Travel to customer sites required (local and regional).
- On-call availability for emergency service calls.
- Company-provided vehicle, cell phone & computer.
