Founded in 1969, the company has five branches operating in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, New York and an international presence in Chile and Mexico. Products include pipe and fittings, valves, pumps, tanks, structural materials, tubing, hose fittings, expansion joints, sheets, bars and other fiberglass and plastic products.  

Summary: Sell, build, and maintain customer and sales base within specified territory, responding to all inquiries.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Contact and visit customers to build and maintain relationship by email, phone, fax, letter, and personal visits
  • Compile list of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from account lists, business directories, and other sources
  • Generate written quotes with supporting correspondence to qualified prospects and follow up until the order is placed, lost, or opportunity is closed
  • Talk with existing customers to determine current/future needs and current satisfaction and build relationship
  • Introduce new products to clients and prospects using samples or catalog, displays, or product demonstration and emphasize salable features
  • Quote prices and credit terms established and prepare sales orders
  • Communicate with warehouse as to estimated date of delivery of product to customer
  • Help in gathering of current marketplace information on pricing, products, merchandising techniques, etc. for Sales Manager
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management
  • Maintain technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, attending educational workshops, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Attend sales meetings as required
  • Maintain open communication with Sales Manager as to whereabouts for scheduling purposes
  • Maintain Outlook calendar day, prepare call reports weekly, and keep vehicle/maintenance log and expense accounts on a monthly basis
  • Cover customer service duties as needed in the absence of other customer service personnel
  • Other duties as assigned by Sales Manager

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two years of related sales or customer service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Background in the plastic industry a plus
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance policy
