Position Summary:
The Food Runner is responsible for efficiently delivering food and beverages from the kitchen to the dining area, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction. This role involves coordinating with kitchen staff and servers to maintain high service standards and enhance the dining experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Food Delivery: Deliver food and beverages accurately and promptly to guests, ensuring all items are accounted for before leaving the kitchen.

 

  1. Communication: Act as a link between the kitchen and dining room, relaying special requests or dietary restrictions from guests to the kitchen.

 

  1. Order Coordination: Assist servers in timing food deliveries to ensure all guests at a table receive their meals at the same time.

 

  1. Table Maintenance: Ensure tables are set up properly, replenish condiments, and clear used dishes promptly to keep the dining area tidy.

 

  1. Quality Control: Inspect food and beverages for quality and presentation before delivery. Address any issues immediately by returning items to the kitchen.

 

  1. Guest Interaction: Provide friendly service, check in with guests for satisfaction, and be knowledgeable about menu items to answer questions.

 

  1. Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation.

 

  1. Policy Compliance: Adhere to all hotel and restaurant policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, time & attendance, meal & rest breaks, code of conduct, grooming and uniform, and guest service standards.

 

  1. Inventory Management: Assist with receiving and stocking supplies and notify management of low inventory levels.

 

  1. Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff and servers, supporting team members during busy shifts.

 

  1. Other Duties: Perform additional tasks assigned by management to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

 

  1. Qualifications: Ideal candidates will have previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting (training provided). Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential. A basic understanding of food safety is preferred. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand and walk for extended periods, with flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays. A Food Handler and Alcohol Server Certification (or the ability to obtain them upon hire) is required.

 

  1. Work Environment: Food Runners will work primarily in the dining area and kitchen, requiring physical stamina for continuous movement, walking, and lifting.
