The Assistant Housekeeping Manager assists the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the housekeeping department. They ensure that all guest rooms and public areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. Additionally, they support the training and development of housekeeping staff, manage inventory and supplies, and uphold safety and sanitation protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager in supervising and directing the housekeeping team to ensure efficient and effective cleaning of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of housekeeping standards and procedures to meet or exceed guest expectations and industry benchmarks.
- Collaborate with the Housekeeping Manager to develop and implement training programs for housekeeping staff, including onboarding new hires and providing ongoing training and coaching.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and equipment to identify maintenance issues, cleanliness concerns, and safety hazards, taking appropriate corrective action as needed.
- Assist in scheduling housekeeping staff to ensure proper coverage and productivity, while balancing operational needs with labor costs.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant health, safety, and sanitation regulations and ensure compliance by the housekeeping team.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as front office and engineering, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of guest services.
