Position Overview:
The Public Relations/Government Contracts Intern will support our team in managing external communications, exploring grant opportunities, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in both public relations and government affairs, particularly in the area of grant management and research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grant Applications: Assist in accessing, preparing, and filing grant applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all requirements.
- Opportunity Investigation: Conduct research to identify new grant opportunities, government funding programs, and other relevant initiatives that align with the company’s goals.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of grant applications, communications, and other documentation related to government contracts and public relations efforts.
- Content Creation: Assist in creating content for social media, newsletters, and the company website to promote the company’s achievements and initiatives.
- Stakeholder Communication: Help manage communication with government agencies, industry associations, and other key stakeholders.
- Event Support: Assist in the planning and execution of public relations events, press conferences, and community outreach programs.
- Compliance Monitoring: Support the monitoring of compliance with government regulations and contract requirements, providing regular updates to the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Political Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and interact professionally with media and government representatives.
- Research Skills: Strong research skills with the ability to identify and analyze grant opportunities and government programs.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in preparing and filing grant applications, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with requirements.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with social media platforms and content management systems is a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and develop solutions to challenges in public relations and government contract management.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with Public Relations, Legal, and Government Affairs professionals.
