Position Overview:

The Maintenance Intern will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment within the facility. The intern will gain hands-on experience in preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and maintenance record-keeping, as well as opportunities to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preventive Maintenance: Assist in performing preventive maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment according to the maintenance schedule, ensuring optimal performance and reducing downtime.
  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues, wear and tear, and safety concerns.
  • Troubleshooting & Repairs: Support the Maintenance team in troubleshooting and repairing equipment malfunctions, learning to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, inspection reports, and equipment maintenance logs, ensuring data is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Tool & Equipment Management: Assist in managing maintenance tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly maintained, organized, and available when needed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and overall operational efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Maintenance team, Production staff, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with a willingness to learn and develop hands-on skills in equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, with an aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in conducting inspections, performing repairs, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Safety Awareness: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment by following safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and Word, for maintaining maintenance records and generating reports.
