PURPOSE AND ROLE:
The Economics and Planning LP Engineer will assist the Economics and Planning Group with forecasting models, analysis, and reporting of LP results. Conducts weekly planning meetings with each business team, develops monthly lost profit opportunity and lookback reports for the refinery, and works with the business teams on turnaround planning, major capital projects, and economic improvement items.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Maintains LP Model data collection for plant yields, thru-puts, capacities, feed/product qualities and specifications, sales pricing, sales volumes, pricing tiers, feed volumes, feed cost, and intercompany pricing and dispositions
·Analysis and interpretation of the LP model results
·Trend analysis for sales pricing, volumes, and unit thru-puts
·Maintain pricing database; improve pricing availability for entry to LP models
·Crude and other feedstock monitoring for pricing markers and basis
·SAP data extraction and manipulation
·Conducting weekly 30/60/90 planning meetings with plants
·Lost Opportunity summary collection, lookbacks, and reporting
·Conducts economic improvement evaluations and report out to business teams
·Put together annual and 5-yr outlook charge and yield analysis to support budgets and capital projects
·Working directly with purchasing and vendors to schedule crude into the plant
·Coordinate with Crude/Feedstock team to deliver optimal quantities and optimal raw materials
·Coordinate with Marketing to sell product volumes that maximize refinery economics
·Ad-hoc duties to support the business
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
·Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant field of study
·5+ years of experience in refining and 1+ years in planning preferred
COMPETENCIES:
·Problem Solver with analytical, detail oriented, and organizational skills
·Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills
·Experience in LP modeling preferred
·Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals
·Advanced proficiency in use of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Access Database, and Linear Programming Applications)
