Overview/Job Summary
A vehicle exchange salesperson, also called a "vehicle exchange specialist," primarily focuses on identifying and engaging customers currently in the service department of a car dealership, evaluating their current vehicle, and presenting them with offers to trade-in their car for a newer model, essentially acting as a bridge between the service and sales departments to generate new sales leads by capitalizing on existing customer interactions.

Key responsibilities of a vehicle exchange salesperson include:
- Identifying potential customers:
- Actively approach customers coming in for service appointments to assess if they are eligible for a vehicle exchange opportunity.
- Vehicle evaluation:
- Thoroughly inspect customers' current vehicles to determine their trade-in value and market conditions.
- Presenting exchange offers:
- Explain the benefits of upgrading to a newer model, highlighting features, promotions, and potential savings available through a trade-in.
- Building rapport with customers:
- Establish trust and understand customer needs and preferences to tailor exchange offers accordingly.
- Sales process facilitation:
- Coordinate with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition from service to sales, including test drives, financing discussions, and paperwork.
- Follow-up:
- Maintain communication with customers after initial contact to nurture leads and close sales opportunities.
- Data management:
- Accurately record customer interactions, trade-in evaluations, and sales leads in the dealership's CRM system.
- Product knowledge:
- Stay updated on the latest vehicle features, pricing, and promotions to effectively present exchange options.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test)
