Life Safety Systems Tech

PURPOSE: To operate and optimize building management systems for efficient building operations.  Systems include digital building management system, life safety systems including maintenance and repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for Life Safety System operation, testing, troubleshooting, along with documentation, and administration.
• Responsible for operating building energy management systems and understanding of HVAC building operation, control of systems, design and intent.
• Analyzes systems and troubleshoot issues, resolving issues, make recommendations.
• Provide support and assistance to team members and other departments as requested; performs other duties as assigned including, but not limited to performing maintenance functions.
• Support of HVAC equipment maintenance as needed.
• Implement capital projects in related areas of discipline.
• On call to respond to building systems issues including overnights and may work different shifts
• Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Three or more years prior Building Systems operation in similar sized property including programming, scheduling and control sequences.
• Comprehensive knowledge of building automation systems and life safety systems.
• Low voltage systems service experience.
• Experience purchasing equipment and supplies is required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Two year vocational/technical certificate in area of HVAC, Building Systems or Electrical Disciplines preferred.
• Comfortable on and perform work on flat roofs up to 150 feet.
• Ability to effectively lead team members on projects.
• Ability to work independently and insure timely completion of projects
