The Human Resources Representative provides essential administrative support to the HR team and serves as a point of contact for employee inquiries. This is an entry-level role focused on performing HR administrative tasks, assisting with day-to-day operations, and ensuring smooth execution of HR processes. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage basic employee inquiries effectively.

 

Job Details

  • Position Type: Full Time
  • Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.91
  • Work Location: Sterling, IL & Maquoketa, IA
  • Travel: 10%

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general HR administrative duties, including filing, document management, and maintaining employee records.
  • Assist with processing new hire paperwork, employment verifications, and other routine tasks.
  • Support the HR team with scheduling interviews, meetings, and HR-related events.
  • Employee Inquiries: Serve as the first point of contact for basic employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
  • Assist employees with routine questions and direct them to appropriate resources or personnel for more complex issues.
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed and filed accurately.
  •  Support the offboarding process by ensuring proper documentation and following established procedures.
  • Ensure all HR documentation is filed in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Assist the HR team with ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Support the organization of company events, employee engagement activities, and training sessions.

 

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks and prioritize work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy in maintaining records, completing paperwork, and processing HR documents.
  • Friendly and approachable, with a focus on providing support and resolving employee inquiries.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the HR team and other departments to ensure smooth HR operations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost care and professionalism.

 

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of experience,

 

Preferred

  • Certifications: SHRM Certified
