Simon & Schuster is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Learning and Development Associate to join our team in our Toronto Canada office. The ideal candidate will support the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs that enhance employee skills and promote career development. This role will collaborate closely with our corporate HR department in New York to identify training needs and ensure the effective delivery of learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Program Development: Assist in designing and developing engaging training materials and programs that meet organizational goals and employee needs.
- Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments and gather feedback to identify skills gaps and training opportunities across the organization.
- Facilitation: Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs, ensuring a positive and interactive learning experience.
- Evaluation and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics. Provide reports and recommendations for improvements.
- Resource Management: Maintain a library of training resources, including e-learning modules, manuals, and handouts, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
- Collaboration: Partner with HR and department leaders to align training initiatives with business objectives and employee career paths.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in learning and development and suggest innovative approaches to enhance our training programs.
ualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in learning and development, training, or a related area.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for learning and a commitment to fostering a growth-oriented environment.
