Manager, Sales Operations and Trade Shows

Simon & Schuster is seeking a Manager, Sales Operations and Trade Shows. 

This role will collaborate with: Customer Service, Distribution Client Publishers, Distribution Client Services, Facilities, Human Resources, Managing Editorial, Marketing (Corporate, Division, Imprint), Order Management, Production, Publicity, Sales, TSI, Exhibitor Services Companies (i.e. GES & Freeman); Publishing Trade Associations (i.e. Mountain & Plains Independent Booksellers Assoc.), Convention Services Vendors (i.e. The Exhibit Company & OnPeak Housing Bureau)

  • Laydown & Embargo Affidavit Process
• Trade Show Management: Includes Field Sales Regionals, Educations Library Shows, Gift Shows.
  • Budget & Spending
  • Booth Contracts
    • Furniture Rental
    • Utilities
  • Book Orders
    • Fulfillment & Tracking
• Material Management: Includes all channels of sales distribution and all divisions and departments throughout organization and distribution clients. Key stakeholder for Materials Management System (MMS).
  • Children’s Seasonal Kit
    • Master Critical Dates & Timeline
    • Inventory Management
    • Fulfillment & Distribution
  • ARC/Galley Management
    • Weekly Solicitation
    • Reservation Process
    • Fulfillment
    • Reporting

Qualifications:

• Education: BA or BS is required along with relevant work experience.
• Skills: Ability to plan, organize & prioritize a varied workload; Strong organizational and project management skills; Detail Oriented; Website Design Knowledge; Proficient in Excel; Eager to Learn; Effectively communicate with all levels of management.
• Key Systems Used: Materials Management System, Title List Builder, Digital Catalog, Inventory
