Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00/year depending on experience + sign on bonus (half paid after 30 days of employment and half paid after 90 days of employment; pro-rated for part-time).
Full-time position - 40 hours per week. Flexible hours, mostly evening. Service is provided in the community within family’s home.
Wayside is looking for an Occupational Therapist to work with our In Home Based Therapeutic Care (IHBTC) programs and DMH Flex Program, which have been recognized across the state for their hard work and dedication to families and youth struggling to manage the youth's mental health needs. This is a full time position based out of our Charlton office with the direct work in the community surrounding the South County area (Milford, Grafton, Charlton, Millbury, etc.). Must be committed to family centered practice.
What You Will Do:
- Provide assessments, treatment plan development, and direct intervention to any youth (age range 5-21) and families who are seeking OT support within their IHBTC service. Assessments and direct interventions are provided to youth and families in a community setting during the evening hours (typically 3-7pm).
- Collaborate with the treatment teams to help set therapy goals and ensure these goals are being met.
- Work collaboratively with a diverse team who provide their educational, professional and lived experience to support a young adult and their families through treatment plan intervention, safety planning and crisis intervention.
- Provide consultation for direct intervention that is focused on addressing the functional goals of the client.
- Provide education and consult support to clinical staff, the young adults, and their families/caregivers.
- Provide home strategies and recommendations to families as well as in home services.

- Ability to access safety in collaboration with team, to provide safety planning that incorporates effective OT interventions.

- Willing to provide direct client care in client homes.
- Creativity to support program development to further integrate OT throughout our care.
- Experience in using clinical observations in assessment.
- Strong skills in psychoeducation and consultation. Ability to explain OT interventions to young adults, families and other providers.
- Ability to empower staff with various training levels to utilize occupational therapy strategies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Massachusetts licensure or are obtaining it prior to start date.
- Experience serving adolescents with significant mental health needs.
- Experience addressing functioning in the home setting or community setting.
- Experience working with diverse population of individuals.
- Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
