The Supply Chain Manager leads and oversees all supply chain management activities at our Pompano Beach manufacturing site. Responsibilities include procurement, invoicing, inbound and outbound logistics planning, and managing both internal and external storage. This role ensures the efficient flow of materials, including raw materials, packaging, ingredients, finished goods, and supplies. Additionally, the manager provides strategic direction for production planning, forecasting, and scheduling while supervising personnel involved in these operations.


What You Will Do At Acme:

  • Oversee raw material intake, procurement, and receiving processes to improve efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Develop data collection procedures for equipment performance, product waste, and storage/handling optimization.
  • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements in materials, machinery, and utilities.
  • Optimize plant layout, equipment positioning, and design to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and lower costs.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop testing mechanisms to measure process effectiveness, workforce utilization, and facility efficiency.
  • Assess warehouse operations to optimize inventory flow, space utilization, and inbound/outbound logistics.
  • Prepare reports with findings and cost-saving recommendations, including strategies for energy reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Analyze supply chain movement to identify inefficiencies and implement inventory control improvements.
  • Monitor industry trends and current practices, using Six Sigma to identify gaps and develop corrective actions.
  • Forecast material costs and establish standardized cost lists for better financial planning.
  • Oversee delivery scheduling based on production forecasts, material availability, storage capacity, and maintenance needs.
  • Implement and oversee quality control processes to resolve production issues, enhance product reliability, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with food safety and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Advise on plant design improvements, including machinery operation, ventilation, and sanitation areas, to enhance food safety and prevent contamination.
  • Establish quality control objectives and procedures to maintain product consistency and optimize production efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation of production reports and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for compliance and efficiency.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Set clear performance expectations, establish goals, and provide ongoing feedback to drive team success.
  • Lead by example, embodying and promoting the company’s core values.
  • Train direct reports on Acme’s processes and procedures to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Deliver constructive and timely performance feedback to support employee growth and development.
  • Manage employee discipline and terminations in accordance with company policies.

 
Your Education & Experience: 

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of supply chain or manufacturing experience, preferably in food or CPG industries.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams.
  • Experience working in an FDA or USDA-regulated facility.
  • Background in food manufacturing with expertise in technical and quality functions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment may include sitting at a desk for extended periods or prolonged periods of standing.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including prolonged periods of standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects.
  • Ability to spend up to 80% of time in plant environment.
  • Ability to work in cold (32 to 45F) and wet environment.
  • Exposure to uneven ground and floor angles.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
