- Pay Range: $84,720.00 to 105,900.00 per year.
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading a Team in safely planning, operating and maintaining our Coal Handling Facility. The Manager ensures Customer and Company owned materials are received, handled, and reclaimed in a safe and efficient manner.
What you'll be doing:
- Possesses experience and knowledge of coal handling and/or terminal operations, bulk commodity handling, rail and conveying, equipment maintenance and logistics
- Execute and teach the S7 Delivery System to ensure safe, consistent service to our Customer
- Build strong relationships with Customers, understand their contracts and rate structures
- Promote a culture of safety within the Team that reflects a value and attitude that all Team Members are committed to safety, and work safely, even if no one is there to watch
- Develop and execute a business plan including budgeting, projecting, variance analysis, and cost management
- Leadership that is focused on in problem solving, decision making, organizing and directing Team Members, and is able to utilize coaching techniques to manage retention
- Hands on leadership that demonstrates professionalism and superior customer service
- Create an environment where Team Members are committed to professionalism and cleanliness
What you'll need:
- Hands on, hardworking self-starter, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possess strong leadership skills to ensure Team Members are safe, efficient, and act with integrity and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills with Customers, Team Members, and other contractors or vendors
- Experience in rail safety, procedures, switching, and track maintenance preferred
- Desire and willingness to grow and develop within the position and Company
- Previous managerial experience of 10+ Team Members preferred
- Bachelor’s degree with engineering/technical emphasis preferred
- 5+ years of industrial operations and maintenance experience in the materials handling, marine, rail or similar industries.
- Experience developing/implementing a proactive maintenance strategy for an industrial facility, including Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) competency
- Project management experience ($250K+)
Physical Requirements of this role:
- Must be able to work outdoors in various climates and, at times in excess of 12 hours, day or night shift during emergency situations
- Able to lift and carry 50 pounds
- Able to climb steps and ladders and work at heights
- The ability to work, walk, and stand on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time
