Benefits Analyst
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Benefits Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics and a deep understanding of ACA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, and HIPAA regulations, in addition to extensive experience with 401(k) plans. The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for conducting data analysis to enhance employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and providing insights to improve the overall benefits strategy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Conduct monthly audits between our vendors and HRIS.
• Process weekly, monthly, and quarterly bill reconciliations and vendor invoicing.
• Provide census data, audits, and ad hoc reports upon request.
• Oversee the funding of FSA and HSA plans, 401(k) changes, and loans, as well as the quarterly reconciliation of 401(k), FSA, and HSA plans.
• Answer inquiries from employees, internal partners, and external partners.
• Verify that employee benefit plans comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to: the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
• Assist in the creation, execution, and management of employee benefit programs that are competitive, cost-effective, and comply with regulatory requirements.
• Assist in designing benefit plans for employees tailored to the needs of the business and its workforce. This may involve reviewing industry trends and obtaining market data.
• Collect and evaluate data regarding employee benefit plans, including usage, costs, and participation rates, to assess the efficacy of benefit programs and identify areas for improvement.
• Assist with the ACA administration and reporting process.
• Assist with benefits onboarding.
• Assist with the Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) as needed.
• Develop and implement communication strategies to inform employees about their benefits and encourage participation in available programs. This includes organizing enrollment meetings, making presentations, and creating written materials.
• Oversee employee wellness initiatives, including planning events and managing the wellness budget.
Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling).
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• At least three years of experience as a Benefits Analyst, or related field.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
