Distribution Supervison - Sala - Outbound Operations Supervisor
Job Purpose:
Position is responsible for shipping of materials within a team-based environment, while ensuring effective movement of product to satisfy external and internal customers. Supervise activities of shipping team members to ensure proper application of safety and quality procedures and policies in the loading, movement and shipping of product and equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Direct shipping team members by assigning duties and responsibilities such as replenishment, picking and shipping of orders for all team members based customer order needs
- Ensure overall quality and accuracy of customer-specific packaging, labeling of shipment, appropriate shipping paperwork and that delivery is made on-time.
- Ensure implementation and effectiveness of new hire training and cross-training; train on SOPs, revisions, metrics and workflow for the department.
- Review departmental performance and metrics and take action to meet expectations and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Establish and maintain professional business relationships with internal and external customers including Inventory Management, Customer Service, etc.
- Labor Management

- Supervise fulltime and temporary workforce and Team Leads.
- Demonstrate positive leadership practices including setting clear goals with team members and providing regular constructive feedback; complete annual performance evaluations.
- Maintain positive employee environment; resolve conflicts, problems and concerns as they occur.
- Safety
- Ensure team members are trained to safely operate material handling equipment without damage to product, structure, equipment, self and other team members.
- Monitor all accidents and incidents and investigate to provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Performs other work-related duties as required by management
Qualifications/Skills/Ability Requirements:

- 1-3 years team leadership or supervisory experience in a distribution or manufacturing operation.
- Experience in operating material handling equipment, warehouse management system and UPS shipping/schedule pick up and tracking
- Strong business sense, excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Self-motivated individual willing and able to take initiative as well as work in team environment
- Computer skills such as: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, JDE and Access
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and metric concepts
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Other physical demands: standing and walking; occasional bending/stooping; exposed to hot, cold and dust
- May require work during seasonal demands on alternate shift, evening and weekends.
Working Conditions
The operator will be working in the warehouse which is not climate controlled. The temperature will vary from cold to hot depending on the time of year. At times the operator will be subject to dust, noise, moving vehicles, working in high places (dependent on position) and moving mechanical parts. The operator is expected to work assigned shift hours (Days/Evenings/Nights) and overtime corresponding with their shift schedule. Due to seasonal business conditions, assigned shift hours may include 7 days/week and holidays as required by customer needs.
Physical Requirements
Warehouse positions require frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling and occasional bending/stooping. Assigned work requires lifting of parts/inventory ranging from 5-20 lbs. frequently, 30-50 lbs. occasionally and up to 70 lbs. infrequently. These positions may also require use of equipment such as a headset, RF gun scanner, pallet jack, easy-go, fork lift or computer.
Direct Reports
This position supervises team leaders and team members in the shipping department.
