Location: Remote but MUST be local to one of the following areas:

Cleveland, OH

Phoenix, AZ

Louisville, KY

Mclean, VA

Atlanta, GA

 

Pay:  $155K per year

Shift: Monday to Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm

 

Employment Logistics:  

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager of Network Operations that is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of the organization's network infrastructure. This role ensures network reliability, performance, and security while leading a team of network engineers and support staff. The Manager of Network Operations works closely with other departments, external vendors, and service providers to ensure optimal performance and uptime of critical network systems.

The Must-Haves:  

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

OR

  • 5+ years of experience in network operations or infrastructure management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CompTIA Network+, CWNA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator), or similar are highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of LAN/WAN, wireless network protocols (e.g., 802.11 standards, Wi-Fi 6), routing, switching, and firewalls.
  • Experience with wireless site surveys, coverage analysis, and signal optimization.
  • Familiarity with wireless security protocols (WPA3, WIPS, 802.1X) and best practices.
  • Proficiency with network monitoring and management tools for both wired and wireless environments (e.g., SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark, Ekahau).
  • Knowledge of cloud networking and wireless solutions in AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus.

Your Mission in Motion:  

  • Manage Network Operations (Wired & Wireless):Oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless (Wi-Fi) networks, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Wireless Network Optimization: Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of wireless networks (Wi-Fi, mobile), ensuring robust coverage, capacity, and security while addressing wireless challenges like interference and bandwidth management.
  • Process Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and continuously improve processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline network operations, including change management, incident response, and network monitoring.
  • Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of network engineers and support personnel, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Network Monitoring: Implement and maintain network monitoring tools to track system performance, detect issues, and ensure optimal uptime and performance.
  • Incident Management: Lead the response to network incidents, ensuring quick resolution, root cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Capacity Planning: Monitor network capacity and usage to anticipate future requirements and propose necessary upgrades and expansions.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage network-related projects, from small-scale upgrades to large infrastructure deployments. Oversee project scope, timelines, resource allocation, risk management, and successful delivery within budget.
  • Security: Work with the security team to implement and maintain network security measures, ensuring the integrity and protection of data across the infrastructure.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and manage any escalations as needed.
  • Network Upgrades: Oversee network upgrades, migrations, and new deployments to support business growth and technological advancements.
  • Documentation: Ensure proper documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Compliance: Ensure network operations comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and security protocols.
  • Budgeting: Manage the budget for network operations, including hardware, software, and personnel costs, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
