Methods Engineer
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Prepare, plan and maintain manufacturing router work instructions including product specification, technique sheets, PDS (Planning Data Sheet) and update Standard Operation description and reference library text establishing the required information to manufacture a part or assembly. Create and maintain the BOM and Standard Routers via ERP system for parts and assemblies. Responsible to Develop and assign estimated standards for set-up, run and assembly times to parts and assemblies in conjunction with the quotation estimates.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Analyze new/existing design of parts and assemblies and develop manufacturing sequence and instructions by creating and maintaining Standard Router master records.
• Responsible for creating Item Master records and maintaining technical configuration integrity of all parts/assemblies.
• Develop Standard BOM master records from engineering drawings and generate requests for all related raw materials, hardware and consumable.
• Responsible to devise the standard set up and run labour hours for each router while ensuring gross margin targets are met
• Liaise with Programming to conceive, conceptualize and generate requests for all related tooling required in the process of manufacturing.
• Responsible for relevant work required for NCR‘s; may investigate discrepant parts and provide feedback for establishing Corrective Actions.
• Responsible to generate and create re-work instructions to transform non-conforming product to within drawing requirements
• Participate and lead MRB activities and related dispositions
• Liaise with all departments in order to resolve in-house and vendor technical problems and to facilitate continuous improvements opportunities.
• Review and sign off CRC’s (Contract Review Checklist) for conformity with customer PO’s & Noranco’s internal policy.
• All other duties as assigned
DIMENSIONS:
• Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent required
• Minimum five (5) years relevant and related experience working in a computerized manufacturing environment
• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing; must be a sight reader of engineering drawings
• Experience with Catia technology
• In depth knowledge of Aerospace manufacturing and industry practices and specifications
• Must have a comprehensive understanding of engineering, quality assurance and how they relate to methods activities

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical:
• Work is normally performed in a manufacturing environment with some time spent in an office
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch
• The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance
• In frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Corrected hearing and vision to normal range
• Use of office equipment including computers, telephones, calculators, copiers and fax machines
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as hard hat, safety shoes, safety goggles, ear plugs, fitted dust mask, etc. as required
Mental:
• Must be able to take on new assignments as required
• Must work under deadlines and related stresses in a timely manner
• Must be able to handle various personnel and other situations as they arise in a professional manner
