IT-IT
The IT Analyst is responsible for the installation of computer systems, ensures that backup systems operate effectively, buys hardware and software, provides the ICT technology infrastructures for an organization, and contributes to organizational policy with regard to quality standards and strategic planning.
Reporting Relationships:
The IT Analyst reports directly to the IT Manager, Noranco Canada, with a dotted line reporting relationship to the General Manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Evaluate user needs and system
functionality;Responsible for the smooth running of all
ICT facilities to ensure they meet the needs of individuals and projects
(including anti-virus software, print services and email provision, etc.);Ensure that software licensing laws are
adhered to and that all systems are secure from internal and external attack;Operate within IT budget; Source
competitive prices from suppliers, where appropriate, to ensure cost
effectiveness;Research and install new systems;
Provide secure access to the network for
remote users; provide users with appropriate support and advice;Manage crisis situations, which may
involve complex technical hardware or software problems;Keep up to date with the latest
technologies; Schedule upgrades and security backups of hardware and software
systems as required;Ensure backups of critical systems and
validate restore process in case of disaster scenario.All other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
Knowledge of programming or systems analysis
required
Required Experience:
1-3 years of experience as an Analyst or
Administrator in a Manufacturing Environment
Level of Education:
Post-Secondary Education in IT or related
field
