SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Lead Sanitation Worker is responsible for safely and efficiently leading a small team to perform duties and tasks involved in the production of BakeMark USA products. This includes tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining production equipment and facilities, as well as ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and motivate a small team of sanitation workers to achieve daily goals and objectives.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitizing of production equipment, machinery, and work areas.
  • Follow established cleaning procedures and protocols to ensure food safety and quality standards.
  • Inspect equipment and facilities for cleanliness and identify any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Properly handle and use cleaning chemicals and solutions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines when working with chemicals.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, chemical usage, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in regular safety meetings and training sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence in English. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.  
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S. money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.  
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.  
  • Computer Skills: None.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Equipment certifications as well as any required by local, state, and federal regulations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Appropriate precautions are to be followed when working in these environments.
