Software Engineering Intern

SUMMARY: The Software Engineering Intern will have the chance to work on diverse projects in the sensor engineering department. You’ll collaborate with experienced developers, contribute to real-world solutions, and enhance your skills in electrical engineering. This internship offers a blend of hands-on work and exposure to innovative technologies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create, develop, code and test software systems, or applications for software improvements and new products.

• Analyze current code and existing design, suggest modifications to processes and procedures, and troubleshoot bugs and issues by working alongside engineering team to identify root cause.
• Make suggestions to improve performance and user experience.

• Perform/assist in the support of existing products in the areas of product improvements, “bug” fixes, customizations, etc.

• Collaborate with engineering team to learn and adhere to coding standards and engineering best practices by helping to maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
• Create tools and documentation to support the development of new functionalities in the projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, entering Junior or Senior year of 4-year program in Fall of 2025.
• Familiarity with C and C++.
• Experience with object oriented development using embedded hardware on Linux or any other real-time operating system
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex issues and propose effective solutions.
• A willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
• Collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.

• Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.

Our facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
