Engineering Technical Lead (Manager) - IoT
SUMMARY: The Technical Lead is responsible for leading the overall product development of assigned MultiTech product/service offering. The Technical Lead will work in coordination with the corresponding Vice-President and General Manager and cross functional team to achieve assigned business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with the corresponding Business Unit\Head of Product Line and cross-functional development team to successfully deliver on business requirements.
- Understand and implement user-centric design and design thinking.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to a team of developers, engineers, and/or technical professionals.
- Set the technical direction for each project, establish best practices, and ensure adherence to engineering and coding standards and development methodologies. This includes, budget management, time reporting, setting performance objectives, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting the professional development of team members.
- Collaborate with product or project managers and stakeholders to define project goals, requirements, and deliverables. Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies. Monitor and track project progress, ensuring milestones are met within the specified timeframes.
- Lead the design and architecture of the solution, ensuring scalability, reliability, cybersecurity assurance, and maintainability. Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure the quality of the system architecture.
- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on project timelines. Conduct root cause analysis, propose solutions, and implement corrective actions. Act as an escalation point for technical issues raised by the team.
- Oversee the testing and debugging of software modules or components. Implement and enforce quality assurance processes and tools to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Create and maintain quality system related technical documentation, including but not limited to, system architecture diagrams, design specifications, and testing requirements. Ensure documentation is up to date and accessible to the team members.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and technical innovation. Propose and implement initiatives to enhance team productivity and deliver higher-quality solutions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Follow and enforce all MultiTech rules and policies.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in related field.

7+ years’ experience in telematics, telecommunications, or telemedicine industry executing M2M/IoT connected solutions in complex organizations.
- Proven experience as a technical lead or a similar technical leadership role and successfully building and leading teams.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team, providing technical guidance and fostering a positive team culture.
- Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with software development tools, version control systems, and issue tracking systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Action-oriented and motivated to move expeditiously to meet company goals.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Ability to travel and work with a global team of professionals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Minimal noise.
Our facility includes a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in manufacturing area unless approved by management.
