Machine Operator-Automation
SUMMARY: The Machine Operator is responsible for preparation, set-up, start and operating of an assigned automated manufacturing equipment line and works under the guidance of the Manufacturing Supervisor and per written procedures and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set-up, operate and troubleshoot equipment to produce MultiTech parts to specification.
- Ensure maximum efficiency of set-up to include set-up time, materials, production rate and material consumption.
- Perform basic routine maintenance of machines as required.
- Troubleshoot production line machinery and determine necessary resolution. Identify issues, which adversely affect product requirements and communicate appropriately to ensure resolution.
- Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
- Uses visual aids, verbal and written instruction to operate the machine.
- Maintains records and documentation.
- Adheres to the quality system standards pertaining to the job.
- Adheres to ESD requirements and safety rules.
- Produce high quality products to exceed customer expectations.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned including cross-training into other areas within Automation.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills in English.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- General computer skills (Microsoft Office); Qantel and Document Control System experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Lean Principles.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- On the job training provided.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting requirements up to 40 pounds.
- Requires standing, sitting, and walking for periods of time.
- Use hands to finger, handle or feel.
- Reaching required.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. No food allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in the manufacturing area unless approved by management.
