Electronic Assembler
SUMMARY: Assembles/builds product according to quality systems/standards following QA check.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine electronic assembly operation.
- Use visual aids, verbal instructions, and written instructions to assemble product.
- Ability to read assembly drawings.
- Prepare parts as needed per written instruction.
- Perform inspection with a microscope.
- Cross-train in entry level soldering.
- Hand soldering and desoldering with hot air, soldering iron, and desoldering equipment.
- Clip leads and cleaning boards.
- Adhere to the quality system standards pertaining to the job.
- Adhere to ESD requirements and safety rules.
- Produce high quality products to exceed customer expectations.
- Follow MultiTech rules and policies.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ADDITONAL WAVE SOLDER OPERATOR ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate wave solder machine and computer; set appropriate parameters.
- Perform routine maintenance of machine.
- Troubleshoot machinery.
- Maintain quality control. Make adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications.
- Reject product outside of specifications.
- Use visual aids, verbal instructions, and written instructions to operate the machine.
- Maintain records and documentation.
- Cross-train when requested to do so.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills in English.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Comfortable with basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of Lean Principles.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- On-the-job training provided.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Lifting requirements up to 40 pounds.
- Requires standing, sitting, and walking for periods of time.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Reaching required.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Moderate noise level. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety glasses, hearing protection, wrist and shoe straps, and ESD smock. Loose fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted. Food is not allowed in the manufacturing area. No cell phone use allowed in the manufacturing area unless approved by management.
