Title:    Technical Project Manager

 

Summary: The Project Manager is part of dynamic customer facing team, whose mission is to provide customers with state of the Marine and power plant solutions for technical and workshop service.   The task is to manage projects and coordinate technical services and to ensure all aspects of the project deliverables are met, Responsible for preparing, coordinating, monitoring and improve field service activities regarding the mechanical overhauls, repairs and executing the service solutions in compliance with customer specifications and contractual agreement.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Abide by company safety and compliance policies and ensure that other project managers in the department to abide by these policies as well.
  • Manage the project successfully to deliver the contractual scope of supply, on time, within budget, meeting MAN quality standards and internal processes in order to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Project controlling in close cooperation with the Head of Project Management
  • Drives bottom and top line growth on own projects.
  • Indemnification of the Claim Management, the Quality Management and the HSE Management.
  • Responsible for the project and contract documentation (Documentation Management).
  • Coordinates project procurement.
  • Cooperates with project related and involved IGC teams.
  • Works together with the Technical service manager and workshop manager.
  • Oversees own project installations and coordinates with Field Service Manager, OEM Products.
  • Support Sales to reduce project risk and confides with sales during project execution.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Responsibilities as service coordinator:

  • Manages engineer personnel schedules via FSM  and  C4S  and ensures on daily basis all systems are updated.
  • Daily communication to engineers on on-going projects/service attendances
  • Manages local PrimeServ mailbox and provides response to customers within 24 hours
  • Provides WORF and all service related information to order management as it relates to the quote to order MAN process
  • Executes weekly engineer meeting and provides meeting notes to local GM
  • Potential updates on outstanding services/jobs.
  • Supports local workshop scheduling and coordination
  • Open jobs folders
  • Check customer status prior accepting a job in customer snap shot
  • Follow up the on day at home reporting and ensure all engineers provide the reports (technical, travel etc.) on time
  • Follow up all reports are done prior a new job take place. Hand over meeting with engineers so engineers understand the scope of work, what has been quoted, days, total amount etc.
  • Schedule and coordinate vacations with engineers
  • Hand over PS box supervision when service coordinator is off
  • Make sure OC are send in response to all POs
  • Read and understand PO’s, scope for work, terms and conditions, currency, delivery dates etc.
  • Check customer’s payment terms prior confirming a job
  • Attend accounts receivable meetings and support them collecting payment
  • Coordinate the trainings of the engineers which results of the PS Care evaluation
  • On large jobs, implement and execute the large repair jobs procedure coordinating between all parts
  • Update monthly sales report

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a technical major, preferably mechanical engineering.

 

Required Experience:

  • 5 plus years pertinent experience in complex projects (preferably in turbomachinery projects).

 

Required 3rd party Certifications/Qualifications:  None.

 

Other skills:

  • SAP proficient.
  • Project Management Systems.
  • Microsoft Office.
  • 2nd language Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and write in English is required. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Pay range for this role is $140,950 - $224,550.

Your actual base rate of pay will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills and experience.
 
Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package.
