Summary: The Master Data Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing our equipment data. The Master Data Engineer will develop and maintain comprehensive equipment structures, service level bills of materials (BOMs), and Material Masters for turbomachinery and related train equipment. Serving as the bridge between the “New Equipment” and “After Market” teams, you will ensure seamless integration and support for Master Data requirements for newly installed equipment across the Americas. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating and maintaining spare parts lists (SPIR, eSPIR) to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed equipment structures in SAP for assigned turbomachinery and related equipment.
  • Build service level BOMs for assemblies and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Create and manage Material Masters for spare and regular parts, ensuring all required data fields are completed.
  • Input and link relevant technical and commercial documents to Material Masters in SAP.
  • Communicate with vendors to clarify details and obtain updated information as needed.
  • Interact with project managers and clients to address comments, changes, and updates.
  • Produce and manage priced SPIR and eSPIR documents for assigned equipment, adhering to MAN-ES and client templates.
  • Handle internal and external inquiries, providing clear and timely responses.
  • Clarify and finalize the commercial and technical aspects of SPIR and eSPIR documents and perform necessary follow-up tasks.
  • Generate Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for spare parts from product centers or local vendors as required.
  • Ensure adherence to MAN’s Company Code of Conduct and business protocols, support audit processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely execution of all tasks.
  • Provide constructive feedback on department policies, processes, and KPIs, and support other assigned tasks.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.  

 

Experience/Qualifications/Skills:

 

  • Minimum one (1) – three (3) years of experience in Master Data management within a heavy industrial manufacturing or service environment.
  • Minimum one(1) – three (3) years of experience in project coordination and expediting.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
  • In-depth understanding of turbomachinery, including technical and legal aspects.
  • Highly skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Results-driven with strong customer relationship management abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and meet deadlines in fast-paced settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, effective at engaging across all business levels.
  • Proactive, assertive, and self-motivated; thrives independently and within teams.
