The Sales Engineer is a strategic technical consultant responsible for the planning, design and implementation of Segra solutions to ensure a successful customer experience. The SE is an integral part to the sales organization and is positioned to support direct sales and account management by identifying opportunities to leverage Segra products and services to increase revenue and provide value to our customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Attend customer appointments to provide technical expertise, product demonstrations and design consultation as it relates to the customer’s needs.
- Pre-sales network consultation expertise.
- Addressing technical questions from customers and their vendors, and ensuring the companies’ network integrity through quality design and cost effective solutions.
- Create business plans incorporating all elements of network and products to determine pricing strategy that is both competitive and profitable.
- Create network topology diagrams, cost summaries and detailed scope of work documentation for sale and post-sale implementation teams.
- Conduct product training for sales and account management to include voice/data/Internet/cloud applications with a focus on strategic positioning and competitive advantage.
- Post implementation support related to relationship building, customer’s technical strategy and additional revenue opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years in Telecommunications or Information Technology industry.
- Business Strategy Development: Must have intermediate level understanding of financial business plan models.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge in network transport delivery and network design.
- Experience with technical designs to include Internet, MPLS, Ethernet, SD-WAN, Cloud service (IaaS,DRaaS,BaaS), Hosted firewall, Hosted voice, SIP trunking, and PRI. Solid technical presentation skills.
- Ability to consult with C-Level and Technical staff to understand a customer’s business needs and identify opportunities to position Segra’s network and product suite to design solutions that will have a positive impact on their organization.
