Job Summary

The Sales Manager for our Enterprise Sales team is primarily responsible for coordinating strategic and tactical efforts for the attainment of enterprise sales revenue and retention objectives across the specified region, with the guidance and direction of the Regional Sales Director (RSD). This is a front-line manager with a high activity level, ready to succeed, and eager to engage with the team and other departments to drive revenue.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reaching and exceeding regional sales goal
  • Maintains rapport with key account leadership and establishes new relationships across the entire account base.
  • Effectively manage the sales team with set goals, mentorship, development, and by utilizing direct reports to collaborate with the RSD to make decisions and take necessary action. This candidate will be expected to build a high-performance team by recruiting and retaining the right talent in specific roles.

  • Building top connections in your market throughout the business community.
  • Participate in account planning to identify strategic opportunities which can lead to the penetration of new accounts and increase existing revenue.
  • Supports and reviews business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified accounts to ensure objectives, goals, win strategies, schedules, and action assignments are clearly defined.

  • Collaborates with supervisor on overall tactical and strategic plans to secure new revenue while maintaining the growth of the current revenue base.
  • Support of contract negotiations, pricing strategies and application assessment.
  • Confers with Marketing for the creation of campaigns designed to penetrate key accounts and target markets. Identifies new targets, markets, and opportunities.
  • Contributes to overall database of prospects, as well as formulation of on-going programs to facilitate sales initiatives.
  • Provide input during discussions regarding project route design to support the market
  • Attend market meeting to confirm route design and provide input into resolution of construction issues

  • Research available opportunities within the market, attend customer relationship meetings and discussions as required
  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with local Chambers, Economic Development Groups and Governments to help build a strong UPN awareness in our markets.
  • Oversees the creation of campaigns designed to penetrate key accounts and target markets. Identifies new targets, markets, and opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education:  College degree or equivilant professional experience
  • Experience:   Minimum 1-2  years experience of managing a sales team, telecommunication preferred
  • Key Competencies: 
    • You will be required to maintain a positive open demeanor, encouraging different points of view, moving the team forward through change, recognizing accomplishments all while demonstrating teamwork and collaboration.
    • Valid Driver’s License. Travel will be required. Out of state travel may also be required periodically.
    • Must be able to manage existing complex data enterprise network accounts, involving Network infrastructure, network design and custom applications.
    • Telecom experience
    • Stays abreast of industry trends by assessing markets and competition, requiring extensive knowledge of the metro area.
    • Proven track record of building and executing sales strategies to penetrate, close, and manage business.
    • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
