PROCESS COATER I - A SHIFT
Summary
The Process Coater I individual is responsible for performing basic coating operations under the supervision of department supervisor and/or lead person.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Performs coating operations including, but not limited to, dry film lube, cetyl alcohol lube, dye ID, etc.
- Reads, understands and uses technical documents, including, but not limited to, blueprints, work instructions, job routers, etc. to ensure that parts conform to all applicable requirements.
- Operates all coating equipment, including, but not limited to spray equipment, bake ovens, lube tanks, etc. Troubleshoots problems and determines action to be taken.
- Operates electric or manual pumps in the removal of chemicals/paints from paint and/or lube tanks when necessary.
- Required to observe all safety rules including, wearing of safety equipment for the handling and usage of paints and chemicals.
- Must perform duties within required company and/or industry standards, specifications and policies.
- Ensures product quality according to company and/or industry standards and practices.
- Able to process and handle workload in an efficient and timely manner per factory business needs.
- Must handle all chemicals in accordance with all applicable company and governmental standards and requirements.
- Monitors all equipment in the department, and depending on the repair needed, corrects the problem or reports to Lead or Supervisor any equipment in need of repair.
- Trains Coating Operators when necessary
- Adheres and implements all company HSE policies, procedures, and practices
- Adheres to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
- Implements and suggests waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the function and department such as recycling opportunities and elimination of paper waste.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
- High School or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working experience of processing manufacturing procedures
- A minimum of 1 - 2 years industrial experience and/or training in related area desired.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal. Ability to perform basic shop math.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Word Processing; Spreadsheet software; and other applications.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Safety and Environmental
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
The responsibilities of the position include compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures. The employee will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, proper footwear, and respirators in specified areas.
