PRODUCTION SPECIALTY LEVEL I-A (Thread Roll)
SUMMARY
The Specialty Machine Level I position is to perform basic set-ups and operate specialty machines to achieve all company targets and standards. Must be able to run at least 3 specialty machines. Specialty machines are Threadroll, Grind, Heading, Tooling, CNC, and Multi-spindle. Specialty I position must maintain the expected level of competency in accordance with skills assessment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential requirements represents the knowledge, skill, and/or ability.
- Performs basic sets ups and operates 3 specialty machines to produce parts according to blueprints, router package, specifications and/or special instructions.
- Recognizes and detects machine out-of-tolerance and adjust controls or control media as required.
- Performs basic trial runs to check accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
- Checks parts for conformance to specifications using gauges, SPC and shop floor system.
- Recognizes and remedies minor machine malfunctioning and in-process inspections. Major discrepancies are reported to lead or supervisor.
- Determines and performs proper feed and speed combinations.
- Provide necessary information to Manufacturing team, Engineering Team or others to document procedures and drawings.
- Performs work operations under supervision
- Checks tooling and reworks as needed to keep machine running.
- Lays out parts for successive and continuous machining operations.
- Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards, by following blueprints or work instructions.
- Participate and maintain LEAP and APU/GAP standards
- Participate and engage in the PSM1 meetings, reporting any ongoing and long-term problems you encounter.
- Sustain actions regarding projects and workshops
- Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows all safety regulations.
- Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures always.
- Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.
- Works under recommended waste elimination initiatives specifically related to the manufacturing production function such as recycling opportunities to elimination or minimize production waste.
- Performs a variety of other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred but not required.
- Working experience of manufacturing environment procedures
- Minimum of 1 - 3 years experience and/or training within an Aerospace fastener manufacturing &/or industrial shop; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to Team Members of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of basic shop math. Ability to calculate in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance
Reasoning Ability
Ability to comprehend detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills and departmental applications: SPC & Shop Floor System.
