Job Description

The Risk Specialist will provide support to the Risk Management department. This role is responsible for processing/triaging incoming insurance casualty claims, communicating with external claims administrators, and assisting with risk system administration.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process automobile and work injury claims.
  • Deliver client-specific accident reports.
  • Communicate and report losses to the third-party administrator.
  • Work with operations managers and supervisors to secure appropriate claim documentation.
  • Follow up on vehicle locations and assist in moving vehicles.
  • Gather documentation for litigation discovery requests for review.
  • Interact with Claim Examiners on claims involving lost time.
  • Review accident reports and document dash-cam video information in the claims files.
  • Assist with maintaining risk system administration.
  • Generate weekly risk and compliance reports.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

  • Working knowledge of computer applications, spreadsheets, and word processing

Education and Experience

One year of office experience and an understanding of claims principles. High School Diploma required; or, equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Language Skills 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, policy and procedure manuals, legal documents, and government regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and other employees.

 

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and apply them to the situation.

Working Environment 

Hallcon is a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation and is a casual work environment. The position typically entails a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday.
