Physical Therapist
.5 FTE / 20 Hours per week
The Physical Therapist engages in the practice of Physical Therapy as defined by Wisconsin Statutes and as required to meet the Physical Therapy service needs of GHC-SCW members. The Physical Therapist will plan and administer professional physical therapy treatments to restore function, relieve pain and prevent or minimize disability. The incumbent works under the general direction, guidance and supervision of the Physical and Occupational Therapy Manager.

JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor, Masters of Science degree, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited college or university required.
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Wisconsin required. In the event of a temporary Wisconsin license (locum tenens), permanent license must be issued within a year of employment.
- Minimum of one (1) year of clinical physical therapy experience preferred.
- Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within four (4) months of employment.
- Excellent customer service skills required. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with a diverse patient population.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including listening both in-person and on the phone required.
- Excellent assessment skills required. Knowledge of interviewing practices and techniques used in order to gather information. Ability to recognize and identify medical symptoms and problems required.
- Demonstrated intuitive, scientific, and problem-solving skills required.
- Ability to educate patients and/or families as to the nature of disease and to provide instruction on proper care, treatments and follow-up.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety and /or infection control standards.
- Knowledge of and/or ability to learn and use computer based applications such as MS Office, electronic medical record systems and scheduling applications. Experience with EPIC is desirable but not required.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize work required. Good organizational skills in the delivery of clinical care required.
- Ability to maintain patient and personnel-related confidentiality required. Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to work as member of a team and maintain good working relationships with staff and patients required. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel and crouch required. Ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, push and/or carry up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis required.
- Ability to talk (speak clearly), hear (conversation), see (corrected vision for near and far sight, color vision, and depth perception) on a frequent basis required.
- Ability to stand and sit intermittently required. Ability to perform fingering and handling with both hands required.
