This position is a .5 FTE / 20 hours per week role with evening and/or weekend availability required.

 

This position is eligible for a $2500 INCENTIVE for joining GHC!
(Referral amounts prorated based on FTE)  


The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for applying ionizing radiation to demonstrate portions of the human body on a radiographic, fluoroscopic screen, or other imaging modality to assist the physician in the diagnosis of disease or injury. The incumbent works under the general guidance, supervision, and direction of the Medical Imaging Manager. Additionally, the incumbent works under the daily operational oversight of the Radiologic Technologist Team Leader.  

 

Job Specific Minimum Qualifications

  1. Graduation from an accredited Radiology technology program or current senior status in a Radiology technology program is required.
  2. Valid Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO) permit from the State of Wisconsin is required.
  3. Registered or registry eligible Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). As a condition of employment, incumbent must obtain ARRT registration within one (1) year and obtain a valid Wisconsin Radiographer license. 
  4. One (1) year of radiologic experience is preferred.
  5. Possession of or eligibility for a valid Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee must obtain certification within (4) months of employment.
  6. Maintenance of current continuing medical education credits is required.
  7. Ability to travel to various work sites. Employee is expected to provide personal transportation. Possession of a valid, Wisconsin driver license if the employee is operating a motor vehicle.   
  8. As assigned, float to other work sites/clinics to serve as backup and provide coverage during staff absences, position vacancies or when patient needs exceed staffing resources. 
  9. Knowledge of general and breast anatomy is required.
  10. Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiographic and /or mammography equipment is required.
  11. Knowledge of the principles and practices utilized in radiographic and/or mammographic examination, and knowledge of radiation exposure techniques is required.
  12. Ability to recognize normal and abnormal structures as depicted on ultrasound in order to tailor the exam to answer the clinical question is required.
  13. Knowledge of and ability to adhere to OSHA standards and other patient care protocols is required.
  14. Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  15. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA privacy requirements.
  16. Ability to work with a diverse patient population is required.
  17. Excellent customer service skills are required.
  18. Ability to stand for up to 90% of a workday is required.
  19. Ability to lift from waist level and carry loads ranging from 15-50 lbs. is required.
  20. Ability to push and pull radiographic equipment is required.
  21. Ability to handle, finger, control left or right hand and reach (above shoulder, over 18" and to the floor) is required.
  22. Near and midrange vision is required.
