Shared Services Staff Accountant

 

What We Need 

 

Corpay is currently seeking a Shared Services Staff Accountant in Brentwood, TN. The responsibilities include accounting for several aspects of accounting in a Shared Services environment.  This includes monthly accruals, balancing intercompany, intangible assets, lease, and fixed assets accounting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, and providing accurate financial reporting.

Role Responsibilities

 

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Assisting with month-end close activities, including timely preparation of journal entries for revenue and expenses, balancing inter-company activity, expense accruals, and adherence to the close calendar.
  • Ensuring accurate capitalization of fixed assets and recording of depreciation expenses in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. 
  • Assisting in preparing reports related to fixed assets, leases, and accruals as assigned.
  • Ensuring accurate capitalization of fixed assets in compliance with GAAP and coordinating with departments to track asset acquisitions, transfers, and dispositions.
  • Recording depreciation expenses for fixed assets in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintaining the completeness and accuracy of leases in Lease Query in accordance with GAAP.
  • Preparing right-of-use asset and liability roll forwards from lease software and reconciling to the general ledger.
  • Preparing, analyzing, and investigating discrepancies for account reconciliations in BlackLine in a timely manner for cash and liability accounts, intercompany, leases, fixed assets, and others as assigned.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and corporate policies.
  • Supporting internal and external audit queries to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit for all areas of responsibility.
  • Partnering with and being a liaison with other departments on analyzing financial balances, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives.
  • Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting requests related to revenue, providing insights and recommendations to management and participating in special projects, and performing other related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA Qualified desirable
  • Approximately 1+ year of relevant accounting experience obtained in a large or complex organization with large volume of activity
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and up-to-date skills in ERP, EPM, and DB systems.
  • Meticulous and strong attention to detail
  • Desire to work in a complex, large-scale accounting and finance environment with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • The right person will be ambitious, flexible, and has a desire to learn and grow professionally.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and technology
  • Knowledge of US sales and use tax is desirable 
  • Deadline-oriented, good time management skills
