Executive Chef (Ethan Allen Hotel) (Hotel Exp Required)
Position Summary:
The Executive Chef will oversee the daily kitchen operations, food production, food cost, ordering and will cook as needed. Ability to motivate staff to achieve a high-level of customer satisfaction. Will report to the General Manager and manage a kitchen staff of approximately 5 hourly employees. Candidate needs to be able to work a flexible schedule, which may include a weekend pending business requirements. Preferably banquet and hotel experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the activities of the kitchen staff. Monitor food production and presentation.
- Supervise, train, and mentor the kitchen staff.
- Ensure culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented.
- Comply with all safety and food sanitation regulations.
- Perform quality checks on ingredients and prepared dishes.
- Develop and implement new innovative dining service options.
- Ensure proper operation, maintenance, and cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.
- Coordinate work schedules.
- Review prep list check daily and order stock as necessary.
- Resolve operational issues.

- Associate’s degree or equivalent in the culinary arts.
- Minimum of five (5) years food service management experience with banquet, restaurant, menu design and cost control experience.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to successfully lead, develop, and train a team.
- Ability to communicate well with the sales/restaurant/bar & banquet team and be a team player as well.
- Ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations.
- Strong culinary knowledge: Ability to take the hotel and menu to the next level, being innovative and thriving on creativity.
- Working knowledge of food inventory, ordering, and production.
- Passion for guest satisfaction (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) behaviors are followed daily.
- Ability to work on weekends and/or holidays.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $70k - $80k, depending on experience.
