Financial Intern - Manning - Analysts
JOB PURPOSE: The Healthcare Financial Intern is responsible for providing entry-level business analysis duties and support of limited complexity for the Business Analytics Department and its varied operations. Assisting with or completing department tasks and duties or assignments follow well-established procedures and require minimal judgment in their execution. The Healthcare Financial Intern in this position works with direct supervision and review, and any work problems involving departures from standard policies, interpretations, or procedures are presented to the supervisor for direction or resolution.
Essential Job Functions
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist the Business Analytics team in entry-level preparation, analysis, and reporting of financial results for internal business partners. Facilitate corrections as necessary through collaboration with business partners and the accounting team.
- Financial Analysis
- Assist in the entry-level analysis of revenue, spending, and data integrity to provide internal business partners with an understanding of their financial performance, productivity, spending patterns and cost drivers.
- Budget Monitoring:
- Assist with monitoring actual revenue and expenses against budgeted amounts, identify, research, and explain discrepancies and variances.
- Financial Modeling:
- Assist the Business Analytics team with established department models to predict future financial performance based on historical data and assumptions.
- Assigned Projects:
- Assist with assigned projects; perform and/or complete entry-level analytical and financial tasks, and assignments supporting Business Analytics operations within established time frames; meeting established rates of performance for the quality and quantity of work for the position; demonstrating a level of quality, efficiency, and accuracy in the employee’s job performance that ensures the highest standards of excellence.
- Maintains at all times employee and/or patient confidentiality by controlling the environment and information being disclosed to authorized individuals ensuring compliance with all HIPAA and corporate compliance standards, as well as accepted human resources confidentiality standards.
- Understands and complies with all organizational Code of Conduct standards, Policies and Procedures, and Service Excellence (AIDET) requirements with all patients, visitors, employees, and internal/external clients or representatives.
- Demonstrates at all times a professional attitude and acceptable job performance for all duties, tasks, responsibilities, and assignments for this position at the assigned location and/or duty assignment that supports the operational needs of El Rio Community Health Center and as assigned by organizational leadership.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.
- Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- Enrolled at an accredited college or university.
- Candidates must have an overall GPA of 3.00 or better.
- Must show initiative and creativity in solving unique challenges.
- Ability to work towards goals on an individual and team level.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task competing responsibilities.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
- Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.
- Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and must comply with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.

- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.

All employees are required to undergo drug testing prior to employment and, will be subject to post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return to duty and follow up drug and alcohol testing in compliance with Federal and State regulations for alcohol and controlled substance testing.
