Metrology Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY— Plan, direct, and manage the CMM equipment and personnel to validate components & product meet established requirements by performing measurements and analysis of results. Supervise CMM personnel in scheduling and maintaining a constant workflow. Prepare programs for measuring new and existing parts using CMM software. Manage the measurement equipment used across the company with compliance to calibration or certification according to ISO/IATF and ASTM standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT— Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and direct the operation and programming of CMM’s at all locations across the company
- Support CMM personnel and ensure proper resources are available for the mount, install, align, and measurement of components and parts
- Review measurement reports, analyze the data using statistical methods, and provide feedback or summary to key stakeholders and interested parties
- Provide accurate and precise measurements to internal and external customers
- Ability to understand GD&T on drawings and apply to developing the strategy for set-up and collection of measurement data
- Assist and lead in collecting and analyzing data for Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) studies, capability studies, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Gage R&R studies
- Lead the discussion and collaboration between departments when trouble-shooting measurement issues
- Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality
- Evaluate new measurement methodologies or equipment to determine usefulness
- Participate in the development of product specifications and work with R&D on measurement scheme
- Instruct and train personnel in metrology, quality, and analytical procedures
- Maintain and manage the measurement equipment used across the company using GAGEpack software
- Identify and coordinate the calibration and certification of equipment
- Work with outside vendors to schedule internal or external work content for equipment
- Support the development and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with 6S procedures
- Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of product to our customers due to a known or potential nonconformance.
- Maintain and support the environmental policy with deployment, governance of the policy and processes, evaluation, and taking actions for process improvement.

- Knowledge and application of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in technical field preferred
Experience: Minimum of two years of related experience; prior CMM programming experience preferred
Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab or similar SPC software, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, OPEN-DMIS, or related software
Certificates & Licenses: IATF16949 Auditor Certification preferred
Other Requirements: Valid Iowa driver’s license
